SINHALA HINDU NEW YEAR

                                                                           


 The transition of the Sun from Pisces to Aries is considered as the dawn of the Sinhala Hindu new year. This day is considered as a special day for Sinhala and Hindu people. Sinhala Hindu New Year falls on April 14. This is traditionally celebrated by pouring milk in every house on the day. In addition, a number of auspicious rituals are performed on that day. New Year's Eve are some of the rituals such as lighting a fire, working, dealing and eating and anointing the head.

                                                                          Forgot the quarrels with relatives and friends on Sinhala New Year and everyone was happy to be together again. A special feature of the Sinhala New year is the celebration of the New Year.  Tis shows the the joy of the Sinhala New Year. Sinhala New Year is a very important day for us in Sinhala.

                                          One of my favorite excursions so far is the Sinharaja Forest. It is a trip we took from school. Let's say this tour in grade 11 with fellow students who studied O/L. We left school at about four in the morning and went on that trip singing and having a lot of fun.
